Regulation of offshore Electricity Transmission - Consultation Responses

31 responses were received from a broad range of key stakeholders. They included: the current onshore GB operator (NGET), offshore wind developers, transmission companies, consumer groups, trade associations, other generators, intensive energy users, and environmental groups.

The preferred approach of the respondents can be broken down as follows:

  • 16 in favour of price control
  • 4 in favour of price control with capping
  • 4 in favour of the licensed merchant approach
  • 1 in favour of a hybrid approach
  • 6 expressed no preference
