Assisted Areas Consultation

The Government carried out an extensive transparent two stage public consultation on it's proposals for a new map which commenced on 15 February 2006 and concluded on 7 August. The Government carefully considered all the responses received from a wide range of interested parties and subsequently issued its response on 10 July for further consultation on its findings.  The Government wanted to ensure that it took into account all factors before finalising and issuing its conclusions on the proposed new map on 10 October.
