Postal Services Act 2000 (Consequential Modifications to Local Enactments No.1) Order 2001 [S.I.2001/648]
&
Postal Services Act 2000 (Consequential Modifications to Local Enactments) Order 2003 [S.I.2003/1542]

There were two orders (made under section 128(1) of the Postal Services Act 2000) that made consequential and supplementary modifications to local legislation in connection with the commencement of the 2000 Act. They were similar to the Orders made under section 127(1) of the Act (details on these Orders) which made modifications to primary and secondary legislation. The modifications in the orders predominantly deal with outstanding references to the old Post Office corporation and their effect was to either:
    (A) change the reference so it related to the new plc company or to a universal
         service provider, in the way that is required or;
    (B) remove the reference altogether (because it now no longer had any relevant
         function or use).
It is not planned that there will be any further consequential modifications to local enactment Orders made under the Postal Services Act 2000.
