Australia Group

The Australia Group (AG) is an informal group of countries committed to preventing the proliferation of chemical and biological weapons. AG members are all major suppliers and/or trans-shippers of dual-use chemicals, biological agents and/or production equipment which could be misused in chemical and/or biological weapons programmes. The AG lists of dual-use chemicals, biological agents and equipment are followed by all members in their own national export licensing systems. The AG meets annually to discuss ways to harmonise and improve further their national export controls to ensure that such goods are properly controlled. The CWC National Authority is responsible for co-ordinating DTI policy on the AG.
