DTI NORTHERN IRELAND EQUALITY SCHEME: SCREENING OF THE DTI’S POLICIES, FUNCTIONS AND SERVICES

The Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Northern Ireland Equality Scheme sets out how the DTI aims to meet its statutory obligations under Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998.

The DTI has carried out a systematic review (“screening”) of all of its policies, functions and activities in Northern Ireland in terms of the impact on equality of opportunity for the nine categories in the Act.  The draft Policy Screening Report of this review was the subject of a public consultation from March-May 2003.  

The Policy Screening Report takes into account comments received during the consultation (Annex E sets out these comments and DTI's response to them) and is currently available in MS Word and PDF formats.  For the relevant links see below.
