Action Plan

There has been positive progress towards the targets set in the original Manufacturing Strategy Action Plan, published in July 2004.

The Manufacturing Forum is monitoring the implementation of the Action Plan, recording the progress achieved to date and adding to it through its work and the work of others.

The Forum will also continue to refine the specific milestones and outcome measures and will build an improved monitoring and evaluation mechanism into the next version of the Action Plan.

The Original Action Plan set out the priorities for activity to ensure the future success of UK manufacturing. It particular it details how the stakeholders (Government, industry, trade unions, the Regional Development Agencies and other stakeholders) can effectively work together, over the next two years, in key areas.
