Telecoms Licences
Notes for the guidance of applicants for a telecoms
licence to run a telecommunications system have ceased. Under the
previous licensing regime, licences were issued for various telecommunication
activities. The old regime was replaced on 25 July 2003 by, what
is called, the General Authorisation regime. Conditions that appeared
in the old style licences have been replaced by general conditions
of entitlement, under the General Authorisation Regime. Service
providers who offer electronic communications networks and services
will have to look at the list of conditions and self-determine which
ones apply to them. The obligation is on service providers to comply
with the conditions of the code powers.
