Atlases have a visible, logical structure with several layers of
detail, rather like the different map scales in a road atlas (route
planner, maps, and detailed area insets). This makes it easier for
users to find the facts they most need from a complex information
pool such as biotechnology regulation.
So who is this atlas for?
- Biotechnologists, particularly those starting out in business
or without the services of a full time regulatory affairs department.
Compliance with the law may require specific activities such as
preparing risk assessments, record keeping, notifying the authorities,
obtaining licences, and abiding by legal and licence requirements
during production. Many of these requirements are interdependent.
The atlas outlines both overarching and sectoral regulation.
- Enquiring minds from all walks of life. Supporting information
is provided on legislative trends, current debates and the international
scene. We hope that you will find this both interesting and useful.
The whole atlas is rapidly accessible from its centrepiece, the Route
Planner.
First time visitors may find it useful to read the Introduction
and How to use this
Atlas before accessing the Route
Planner and subsequent maps.
