The safety of match containers

This report follows on from research conducted in 1997 into the problem of children under five years of age playing with cigarette lighters and matches

The study includes two phases. Phase 1 includes a survey on the availability of Child Resistant match containers and assesses their effectiveness.

Phase 2 is a design feasibility study for practical Child Resistant containers and also includes a study of alternative approaches.
