On the
23 January 2006 the Council of the European Union decided by
Common Position 2006/29/CFSP to lift the arms embargo
against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Amendments to The Export of Goods, Transfer of Technology
and the Provision of Technical Assistance (Control) Order
2003 and the Trade in Controlled Goods (Embargoed
Destinations) Order 2004 to remove references to Bosnia and
Herzegovina to reflect the lifting of the arms embargo will
be made by means of a separate Bosnia and Herzegovina
Export Control Order. Details are as follows:
The Export Control (Bosnia and Herzegovina) Order 2006 (SI
2006/300); this Statutory Instrument will come into
force on 6 March.
Some
Open General Licences are likely to change as a result of
the lifting of the embargo. These amendments are currently
under discussion and will be announced as soon as they are
finalised.
