Radioactive
Sources: Introduction of an Order under the Export Control Act 2002 to
control the export of certain high-activity radioactive sources
The Department
of Trade and Industry plans to introduce an Order to control exports
of certain high-activity radioactive sources as defined under the
International Atomic Energy Agency Code of Conduct on the Safety and
Security of Radioactive Sources (IAEA/CODEOC/2004).
It is now
seeking the views of industry and others on the likely impact of such
a proposal and how it can ensure that the proposed operational
procedures do not unnecessarily burden industry and others.
