Other Export Requirements
 

Exports may be subject to control under legislation other than that administered by the ECO, for example the Landmines Act 1998. Some other examples are listed below and you are advised to seek legal advice or contact the relevant Government Department.

* CHEMICALS AND DRUGS - Precursor chemicals and reagents used in drug manufacture and certain dangerous drugs (contact the Home Office: Precursor chemicals on tel: 020 7273 3484; Reagents on tel: 020 7273 2620) 

* CHEMICALS - Certain chemicals (mainly pesticides) require a Prior Informed Consent (PIC) before exportation (contact the Health and Safety Executive on tel: 020 7717 6375) 

PRESCRIPTION DRUGS - (contact Medicine Control at Department of Health - Personal Export tel: 020 7273 0616; Commercial Export tel: 020 7273 0583) 

* FAUNA AND FLORA - Protected species of wildlife and flowers (contact the Wildlife Licensing and Registration Service, Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) on tel: 0117 372 8168 email helpline@defra.gsi.gov.uk) ) 

* LIVE ANIMALS - A Health Certificate may be required for the export of certain live animals (contact DEFRA - http://www.defra.gov.uk/animalh/int-trde/gen-inf/contacts.htm email animalexports@defra.gsi.gov.uk

* ANTIQUES - Many items over 50 years old are subject to control as antiques, separate or in additional to those of the ECO (contact the Department for Culture, Media and Sport on tel: 020 7211 6164/6166, 6167, 6168)
