have been to one or other of the 35 Export Control Organisations

venues were London, Derby, Leeds and Southampton.
Beginners workshops

control business are very popular: nearly 140 people attended 11

the small group format to their liking.
Intermediate level
seminars
The intermediate level seminars, attended by nearly 400 people,
covered a number of current issues including exporting technology,
the different sorts of licences available, company compliance with
export control legislation and the UK control lists.
Making better licence
applications
The courses to help exporters make better licence applications,
including guidance on ELVIS the system developed by ECO to
encourage exporters to apply for Standard Individual Export Licences
via the internet have gone well and it has meant that, since the
first one in November 2005 the number of online SIEL submissions has
increased substantially. About 25% of SIEL applications now come in
via the internet.
Understanding OGELs
There have also been a number of successful courses on developing
greater make better licence applications among exporters.

courses were encouraging: 95% of attendees found the arrangements,
course content, ease of registration, venue etc excellent or good.
ECO staff have given a
number of presentations over the past twelve months to individual
