Duty Suspensions and Tarfiff Quotas

Temporary Duty Suspensions and Tariff Quotas allow the duty free importation into the Community of raw materials, components and semi-finished products which cannot be supplied (or supplied in sufficient quantities) from Community sources. Suspensions allow unlimited quantities to be imported into the EU whereas quotas allow limited quantities to be imported.

Existing duty suspensions and quotas

If your product is covered by an existing suspension or quota, it is not necessary to make a new request. You will find details of existing suspensions and quotas in the United Kingdom Tariff, which is available on subscription or for inspection at larger H M Customs & Excise offices. The current list of duty suspension and tariff quotas is also published in The Official Journal of the European Communities.
