Introduction

DTI is at the forefront of Government action to reduce regulatory burdens on business, working with Cabinet Office and other Government Departments to reduce red tape at domestic and European levels.

Highlights of our programme are DTI’s commitment to reduce by £1 billion the burdens on business arising from DTI regulations, over the lifetime of the Five Year Programme, the Retail Enforcement Pilot looking at new ways of working to reduce the burden of complying with regulation for the retail sector; and clearer information for business on regulatory issues through the Business Link Website
