Export Licences

This section on licences deals with the following subjects:

  • Archive (licences no longer current from December 2005 on)
  • Open General Export Licences: the licences themselves and amendments to them
  • Open Individual Export Licence (OIEL) including the OIEL for news-gathering organisations and aid agencies
  • Standard and open individual trade control licences
  • The ECO Goods Checker, a web-based search tool
  • ECO OGEL Checker, a web-based search tool

Online licensing
ECO is introducing the new SPIRE system for Online Licensing on September 3rd 2007. Please click the link in the Right Hand menu to find out more about SPIRE. Please note that SPIRE replaces the ELVIS system and that you will be unable to use ELVIS for electronic licence applications from 1 July 07.

Use the link in the left hand menu to go to Guidance. 

Radioactive Sources
Under the new Order to be introduced in October 2006 there are new application forms for OIELs and SIELs.  There is also a new OGEL.  Click on the main Radioactive Sources page in the right hand column for more details.
