EU Commission Consultation on EU Market Access Strategy

The European Commission has launched an on-line public consultation on the renewed EU Market Access Strategy entitled "Global Europe The EU’s Market Access Strategy in a changing global economy A consultation paper ". The consultation paper asks for businesses and other interested parties, views on the EU's Market Access Strategy and the ways in which it might be improved and will close on 19 January 2007. This will pave the way for a Commission Communication in April 2007.

It will be vital for all UK stakeholders to register both their views and ideas for updating and re-shaping the Market Access Strategy with DG Trade over the next two months.

The DTI will be discussing this with both the Commission and the other Member States in the relevant advisory committees in Brussels and in any bilateral contacts that we may have.
