UK Presidency of the Council of the European Union - 2005

The United Kingdom held the Presidency of the Council of the European Union from 1 July until 31 December 2005.

In January 2006 an article  on the UK Presidency and its achievements by the former Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, Alan Johnson, was published in the CBI's Business Voice magazine (see related documents link on right of this page)

The Presidency passed to Austria from 1 January 2006  and will pass to Finland on 1 July 2006 for more information see their web sites in related links.
