A Practical guide to the EU

DTI Publishes New Guide to Working with the European Union

In his foreward Alistair Darling Secretary of State for Trade and Industry explains the importance of  this new guide:

"The European Union (EU) is facing some huge challenges as we enter the 21st Century  - globalisation, low growth, unemployment, migration and uncertain energy supplies to name but a few. Because of this, it is increasingly important that UK businesses understand and engage with Europe if they want it to work for them."

This booklet aims to give practical tips to business on how they can have their say in the EU  lawmaking process and gives pointers to other sources of information on accessing funding and doing business with the EU. Click on related document links on right of this page to view electronic version of the guide.

Hard copies will be made available to UK business, employee and consumer organisations for their members.

Copies can also be requested directly from DTI’s Publications Unit (tel: 0845 015 0010 e-mail: publications@dti.gsi.gov.uk), quoting reference URN 06/1262.
