Diversiton
Diversiton
is a non-profit making body dedicated to promoting diversity and equality in the
workplace. It works closely with a wide range of employers, inter-faith bodies,
faith communities, religious and belief organisations as well as minority
groups, in the design and delivery of its services.
The
Diversiton project will provide specialist training on religion and belief
issues in the workplace for HR personnel and Senior Managers as well as
providing a range of support services and web-based resources.
The half-day training sessions provide a
comprehensive overview of the new legislation addressing both legal requirements
and practical considerations. The aim is not just to help organisations to
ensure compliance but to raise awareness, build confidence and develop capacity
in dealing with practical needs such as holidays, food, prayer, dress, etc - for
staff and customers.

A
training package that enables trainers to deliver this latest diversity
programme on religion and belief on an ‘in-house’ basis will also be
available from March. This allows trainers to run courses at a time and place to
suit their needs. The full range of Diversiton resources and information will be
available on the website, which will be
launched in February 2004. This includes checklists
and guides, details of the legislation, how to ensure compliance, information on
the main religions and beliefs in GB, good practice guides for different
sectors, an on-line Multi-Faith calendar with forthcoming religious holidays –
and much more.
