Citizens Advice

Citizens Advice is running a project to promote awareness of new (Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation and Religion or Belief) Regulations to the general public and staff within the CAB service.  The project has the following outputs:

Adviceguide, which is the public advice website of Citizens advice, will be updated with information about the new regulations starting with frequently asked questions for both employers and employees.  Downloadable fact sheets and case studies will also be available. More detailed information for people who feel they are facing discrimination with clear guidance on how they should deal with this situation will also be produced.

Citizens Advice will develop a national communications strategy to publicise the regulations. A number of information leaflets and posters will also be produced to promote the project and awareness of the regulations.

Citizens Advice’s Specialist Support Unit based in Wolverhampton will produce training materials on these regulations for CAB specialist advisers and 6 training days are planned before April.

Citizens Advice’s Training Development Team will produce an in bureau training pack on the regulations for generalist advisers.

For more information, please contact Sam McQueen, Project Manager.
