UKHCA and Social Care Association (SCA)

The United Kingdom Home Care Association (UKHCA) and Social Care Association (SCA) are working together to produce and disseminate a good practice guide to draw attention to the requirements of this legislation to their members.

The SCA predominantly represent the social care workforce and the UKHCA represent independent sector domiciliary care organisations. Therefore, although the guidance published will cover both employers and employees, it will be generic in format, but where there are key differences these will be highlighted. The guidance will be in the form of an A5 booklet with an independent summary.

The guidance will be written taking into consideration a number of existing documents and will include information and good practice material gained from key organisations within the Social Care field.

It is envisaged that the full guidance will be disseminated via each organisation’s web sites, which gain a large number of hits per month, in the first instance with a view to gaining sponsorship to enable hard copy publication of the full document.
