‘In history, pupils find evidence, weigh it up and reach their own conclusion. To do this they need to be able to research, sift through evidence, and argue a point of view – skills that are prized in adult life.’

The importance of history – National Curriculum for England

History

In history pupils consider how the past influences the present, what past societies were like and what beliefs and cultures influenced people's actions. Pupils develop their knowledge of significant events and people as they study history from different perspectives, including social, economic, technological and scientific. What the individual pupils study can include entrepreneurs.

Characteristics of enterprise are discussed further in About enterprise.
