On 12 October 2006, the Government published a Parliamentary statement, providing an update on the position regarding winter energy supply.  This builds on the statements published on 16 May 2006 and 11 July, which gave an overview of the outlook for winter 06/07, and actions being taken. A more detailed view of the supply/demand situation for gas and electricity for the coming winter is provided by the National Grid Winter Consultation Document Update, published by Ofgem on 21 September.   This may be found on the link to the National Grid website (see 'External Links')."
