LCBP Phase 1 is the replacement for the DTI Clear Skies and Solar PV grant programmes. Launched in April 2006, £28.5 million has been made available to support microgeneration projects in households, community organisations, housing associations, schools, not for profit sector and private businesses. The scheme aims to demonstrate how energy efficiency and microgeneration can work hand in hand to create low carbon buildings.
Following a competitive tender process, Energy Saving Trust (EST) was appointed Programme Contractor for the LCBP Phase 1. It is responsible for setting up and running the scheme until 2009.
EST hosts the LCBP Phase 1 website (see 'External Links'), and this contains all the relevant information on the grant programme. This includes: scheme overview; technologies covered; how to apply; scheme statistics; and a contacts section that includes a helpline number for any queries.
LCBP Phase 2 is DTI's new £50m capital grant stream for the installation of microgeneration technologies by organisations including local housing authorities, housing associations, schools and other public sector buildings and charitable bodies. It is not open to private households or businesses.
Under Phase 2, purchase and installation of technologies must be from a specific shortlist of suppliers, and of the following technologies: Solar PV; solar hot water; wind; ground source heat pumps; and biomass.
LCBP Phase 2 is now open. Follow the 'External Links' for the dedicated programme website. The programme manager for LCBP Phase 2 is Building Research Establishment (BRE).
Non-programme related questions may be sent to micro.generation@dti.gsi.gov.uk. Questions asked and answers provided by the DTI may be edited and published on our website.
Deadline for applications - closed 9 March 2007.
