BACKGROUND
The Renewables Advisory Board (RAB) commissioned several reports on community involvement in wind energy developments and this best practice guidance is available from this web site. The guidance is intended for a broad audience: local planning authorities, wind developers, local authorities officers dealing with community development and the communities themselves.
The guidance is intended to encourage community involvement in wind energy development in the overall UK policy context where renewable energy development and community involvement in planning are both encouraged. The specific guidance on this site gives more details about relevant policies and existing guidance.
Different parts of the guidance will be appropriate for different audiences and at different stages in the process. You can use the links below or in 'Related Links' (at the right hand side) to navigate to the guidance that is most relevant to you.
