THERMOMAX LAUNCHES NEW SYSTEM

SolamaxThermomax Ltd, a UK company that is a world leader in the manufacture of vacuum-tube solar collectors for hot water supply, has introduced a new active solar system called Solamax. Designed and developed in-house, Solamax differs from other Thermomax products in that it is a direct-flow system. Designed for rapid response rate and optimum performance, it is available in modules of 20 tubes and 30 tubes, and is suitable for domestic and commercial water-heating applications.

Heat transfer from the collector to an insulated manifold heat exchanger is effected via a specially designed copper heat-transfer tube, through which water is circulated. The design of this tube incorporates a patented dividing strip configuration, which acts to separate the flow and return of the water through the solar collector tubes; this leads to high heat-transfer efficiency. Both the collector plate and the heat-transfer tube are vacuum-sealed inside a glass tube. This is designed to provide the collector with exceptional insulation ability, whilst ensuring protection against weather influences such as moisture or pollution. The special construction of the fittings enables the collector tube to be fixed in the orientation most suitable to the direction of the sun's radiation.
