The role of Sector Skills Councils

  • The VQ reforms are enabling SSCs to ensure that vocational qualifications meet the needs of their sectors through:
  • giving them a leading role in developing the content of vocational qualifications to ensure that they meet the needs of their sectors
  • the SSC approval process means SSCs will be responsible for approving vocational qualifications for accreditation onto the QCF
