Advising on VQ priorities for public funding in England

SSCs advising LSC/SFA on public funding of vocational qualifications in England

In England, accreditation onto the Qualifications & Credit Framework (QCF) will act as a prerequisite, but not the sole prerequisite for public funding of vocational qualifications for post 19 learners in England. As set out in the Leitch Implementation Plan, in future, the LSC will be advised by sector organisations on the qualifications against which public funding should be aligned, taking into account government targets and priorities.

From August 2009 the LSC will prioritise QCF provision across Train to Gain, OLASS, IESA and the Adult Responsive model. This will be aligned to ensuring that public funding is focussed on those qualifications advised by sector organisations.

See Funding for further information about the public funding approach.
