The National Student Forum was established in 2008 to amplify the student voice within government.
The NSF was set up by the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills (now BIS) to ensure that policies are better for being informed by the student voice.

The forum consists of an independent chair (Maeve Sherlock), two vice chairs (elected by members) and up to 18 volunteer members who reflect the diversity of the undergraduate and postgraduate population.
Key publications
The NSF published its second annual report in October 2009.
The Forum has recently been involved with a number of high profile government strategies, feeding in their views in order to put the student experience into the centre of policy implementation.
The Government has responded to a number of NSF recommendations in its response to the Forums Report, published in February 2010.
