Work involves:

On discretionary schemes required by the Government acting as Project Sponsor as defined in OGC Best

Practice including:

  • Ensuring that the project or programme meets the objectives and delivers the projected benefits.
  • Acting as sole point of contact with Project Manager
  • Co-ordinating and directing end user input
  • Managing the project budget, including risk allowance
  • Establishing formal reporting arrangements on project progress
  • Receiving and reviewing detailed reports on the project from the project manager On Network Rail High Level Output Specification (HLOS)-driven, small discretionary and third party schemes acting as DfT representative on the industry Programme or Project Board.

Essential criteria:

Chartered Engineer or Chartered Surveyor or experienced rail professional or qualified Project Manager
