Vacancy Description

High-level objectives are:

To ensure that HMG’s policy decisions on issues on international terrorism, Iraq and Northern Ireland are usefully informed by timely, accurate and assessed all-source intelligence.

To ensure timely, accurate and assessed all-source intelligence is briefed to COBR in the event of a crisis; to manage the COBR intelligence group; and to manage the Assessments Staff’s responsibilities in maintaining continuity of government in a major crisis.

To contribute to the JIO’s corporate responsibilities for management of intelligence community issues, through membership of JIO senior management team and through ensuring that the annual setting of Requirements and Priorities for UK intelligence reflects HMG policy priorities.

To maintain and develop relationships with intelligence allies and liaison partners in order to ensure that assessments can, where possible, be informed by their views.

To ensure the the international terrorism, Iraq and NI team is properly motivated, adequately trained and productively employed on useful work.
