A Minister for Students, Lord Tony Young of Norwood Green, has explicit responsibility for speaking up for students' views and interests in Government.
Over the past year the minister has been visiting universities to meet students and discuss their student experience. These comments are anonymously fed back to senior staff to enable the university to continually improve.
