Latest news on Skills Funding Agency Transition.
- Legislation is progressing, with the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning (ASCL) Bill on course to receive Royal Assent, subject to Parliamentary approval, in the autumn of this year.
- A new Employer Reference Group has been established to ensure that the Skills Funding Agency is designed and created with an employer voice at its heart. The Group met for the first time on 23 July 2009.
- To manage the transition to the Skills Funding Agency, the Department for Business, innovation and Skills (BIS) has established a programme of 7 distinct projects each addressing a key element of the transition. All projects involve both Learning and Skills Council and BIS staff and report to a Skills Funding Agency Transition Board which includes provider and employer representatives.
