Higher Education at Work - High Skills: High Value
Summary

On Monday 14th April 2008 we published our high level skills strategy, 'Higher Education at Work - High Skills: High Value'.

The purpose of the consultation was to consult employers, learners and higher education providers on what more we need to do to equip the workforce with the skills required for an innovative and competitive economy. Our strategy will be driven by demand from employers and learners.

We had over 200 written responses to the consultation from a wide range of stakeholders including Higher Education and Further Education providers and representative bodies, employers' organisations, Sector Skills Councils and Professional Bodies.

The responses have now been analysed and a full report of the outcomes and an executive summary document are now available on the DIUS website - see links below.

An initial Equality Impact Assessment was published alongside the original consultation document. This will be reviewed in the light of the consultation outcome and developing policy proposals. We will publish a fuller assessment once we have sufficient evidence to do so.
