- Encouraging employer support for Apprenticeships
- Skills Pledge; companies publicly pledging basic skills training for all staff who need it
- National Skills Academies; employer-led, academies delivering the skills required by each sector of the economy
- Sector Skills Councils, including Sector Compacts; employer-driven organisations that articulate skills gaps in a sector and seek to address them
- UK Commission for Employment and Skills
- Better Regulation; helping to reduce bureaucracy in Government regulation
- Third Sector (charities and voluntary organisations) Skills
- Olympic Skills 2012
- Manufacturing strategy
- Union Learning Representatives; trade union representatives encouraging staff to learn at work
- World Skills; young skilled people from around the world, gather together to compete before the public in the skills of their various trades
- Investors in People (IiP); public standard regarding equal opportunities and training for staff in order to improve the performance of an organisation
