Support for project and programme management

The value of effective project and programme management is well established. The Health Gateway Process is one of the key resources available to those responsible for projects and programmes.

Offered through the Health Gateway Team, the Health Gateway Process provides the Department of Health, Arms Length Bodies and all NHS organisations (including Foundation Trusts) with free and confidential support for projects and programmes. Using well established principles of peer review,  support is tailored to fit the particular needs of the project or programme and the organisation, giving great flexibility.

Gateway Reviews are recognised throughout local and central government and can be used for programmes and projects carried out through various kinds of partnership and which have stakeholders outside the health system.

The Health Gateway Review process can be used at any stage in the consideration and life cycle of a project or programme and the value has been well established within health.

The Health Gateway Team can also provide advice to those considering, starting or running a project or programme to establish if they could benefit from a Gateway Review.

Outside the reviews, training can also be provided to those responsible for projects and programmes especially SRO’s and Programme Directors.  Where a project or programme has already been reviewed advice can be provided on the action plans.
