Summary: This consultation seeks views on the Government’s proposals to reform the framework for the economic regulation of the airports sector. The proposals are intended to provide a flexible economic regulatory framework for the sector that puts the passenger experience at the centre of the regulatory decision-making and processes, as well as emphasising the environment, financeability and the principles of Better Regulation. The consultation period has been extended from 01 June 2009 to 05 June 2009.

In March 2009, the Department for Transport (DfT) published a consultation document seeking views on government proposals to reform the framework for the economic regulation of airports. This document outlines stakeholder responses to those proposals. It should be noted that these are summaries, rather than a verbatim collection of the responses received. It should also be noted that not all stakeholders commented on every question included in the consultation document.
