Amendments to Speed Limiter Regulations of the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986

Closing date: 18 November 2007

Summary:   A consultation paper on the proposed amendments to the Speed Limiter Regulations. We are seeking views on the removal of a time-expired ‘savings provision’ affecting goods vehicles first registered between October 2001 and December 2004 with a maximum laden weight of 7.5 tonnes – 12 tonnes. We are also seeking views on the proposal to introduce a permanent exemption, from the requirement to have a speed limiter fitted, for the benefit of HM Prison Service Vans.
