Notices, Directions and Restrictions Working Group
The Department for Transport convened a working group to assist with the revision of the Street Works (Registers, Notices, Directions and Designations) (England) Regulations and the Code of Practice on Coordination.
The group was tasked with reviewing the existing classifications and notice periods and for considering the detailed arrangements of powers to direct the timing of works; powers to direct on the placing of apparatus; restrictions after substantial highway works; restrictions after substantial street works and notices requiring remedial works relating to reinstatements and duty to notify authority of reinstatement.

Permit Scheme Working Group
The Department for Transport convened a working group to assist with drawing up of the Street Works (Permits) (England) Regulations and Guidance on operating permit schemes.
This group was tasked with looking at the detailed arrangements of how permit schemes, covering activities in the highway, might operate.

Fixed Penalty Notice Working Group
The Department for Transport convened a working group to assist with the development of the Fixed Penalty Notice Regulations and Guidance for the operation of a fixed penalty notice system.
This group was tasked with looking at the details of the proposed fixed penalty notice system for certain offences under the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991.
