The Future of Rail - White Paper CM 6233

Alistair Darling has published a new White Paper 'The Future of Rail'. It sets out a blueprint for a new streamlined structure for Britain's Railway. The proposals will provide a single point of accountability for the network's performance, allow closer working between track and train and provide for greater devolved decision making. Together the changes will ensure the structure of the railways is fit to deliver the improvements the public expect. He has summed up his proposals in a ministerial statement.
