Responsive social science programmes to reduce poverty
Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC)/ DFID Joint Research Funding Scheme
Launched in August 2005, this is a £13 million strategic joint funding scheme to promote social science research. A core theme will be to undertake research that will underpin efforts to alleviate poverty, through international collaboration and inter-disciplinary research. The scheme represents a new way of working and will strengthen collaboration between the research council and the DFID. The scheme is open to both UK and non-UK institutions.
