The goal of this project is to help address poverty in developing countries with export-oriented development strategies for agricultural and food products. DFID is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from service providers to manage the project and promote EU/global market access of developing countries to export food & agricultural products. Key areas of the project involve building capacity of partner countries to export food and agricultural products, ensure agricultural trading standards are used effectively to upgrade agrifood industries in developing countries, harmonising with other donors to support developing countries meet international Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) standards. For Expressions of Interest (EOIs) the following criteria will be used to assess the capability of Service Providers to deliver the objectives of the International Standards and Development Project within the provisions of the terms of reference: (i) Experience and track record of standard setting through internationsal standard bodies (ii) Experience of working in plant, animal and food safety standards (iii) Experience of working with DFID or other development organisations (iv) Experience of working with government departments/agencies. Financial standing will also be used to assess EOIs.
