Take part in the White Paper regional consultations
30 March 2009
Your chance to shape government policy on eliminating world poverty
On 5 March the consultation process for the new UK White Paper on
international development began. To enable the public to get involved in
the consultation, a series of regional events was announced.
The first two events took place in Birmingham and Norwich, hosted by DFID Ministers Mike Foster and Ivan Lewis respectively.
There were many questions from the floor, covering such topics as how the UK government plans to catch up on the MDGs, the balance between multilateral and bilateral funding, and improving education in developing countries.
The question and answer session was followed by table discussions where attendees had the opportunity to discuss in more detail key themes raised in the public consultation document. News and photos from future events will be available on this page over the next few months.
It's not too late to get involved - there are still nine events that you can
register to attend.
