DFID UK funding to 2009 Gaza Crisis

DFID has pledged nearly £47 million to help meet immediate needs and support recovery efforts in Gaza.

To date, over £19 million of this has been committed as follows:

The European Commission's Humanitarian Aid Office (ECHO) has allocated €35 million for urgent humanitarian relief work in Gaza, of which the UK contributes about 16% (€5.6 million).

The UK is also the largest donor to the UN-administered Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF), which has allocated $8 million for emergency humanitarian assistance in Gaza.
