Yemen

Once home to the queen of Sheba, Yemen is a stunningly beautiful country that, despite modernising and opening up to the world, still retains much of its tribal character and many of its long-standing customs.

The only low-income country in the Middle East, Yemen faces a difficult future, with high unemployment, rapid population growth and water scarcity, declining oil revenues, conflict at a local level and regional instability.
