Ultra Vires - a legal term for activity which is outside the scope of the relevant legal powers and is therefore illegal.

UNAIDS - Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS

UNDCP - United Nations Drug Control Programme

Undertakings - agreement by the project partners/management to carry out certain actions as a condition of donor assistance.

Unplanned impacts - positive or negative impacts which were not expected to result (i.e. unforeseen) from the project.

These unexpected impacts will not be covered in the logical Framework. (Expected negative impacts may be in the Risks & Assumptions column.) It is important that all impacts, and not just positive expected impacts, are covered by impact assessments or evaluations.
