Key English Language Teaching Scheme (KELT) - scheme set up in 1977, under which the British Council provided English language specialists for key 'multiplier' posts in the developing countries on the basis of country programmes. Know How Fund (KHF) - is Britain's programme of bilateral assistance to the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia. It aims to support transition to pluralist democracy and a market economy by the provision of British skills in key sectors and by encouraging British investment in the region. Key Informant - a person selected for interview because of their special knowledge or perspective. Knowledge Programmes - (or Generation and Transfer of Knowledge). Programmes for the generation, testing, application and dissemination of Knowledge and Technology so as to contribute to DFID's development objectives. The 'central' Knowledge Budgets formerly known as Technology, Development and Research (TDR) or Research budgets are for sectoral programmes of research whereas country-specific activities are funded from country programmes. |
