Mini Grants Scheme

Introduction

The Mini Grants Scheme was aimed at organisations or networks with an interest in development education work in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales wanting to undertake one to three year projects seeking to raise awareness and understanding:

  • of international development issues
  • of our global interdependence and
  • of the need for international development.

Current Statues of the Mini Grants Scheme

The Mini Grants Scheme is now closed and no longer accepting applications.

Management

The Mini Grants Scheme was managed on behalf of DFID by managing agents in each region of the UK,

  • Development Education Association (DEA) in England
  • Centre for Global Education in Northern Ireland
  • International Development Education Association of Scotland (IDEAS) in Scotland
  • Cyfanfyd in Wales.

Fund size

Funding allocations were decided through an annual competitive process, which was managed by DFID’s Mini Grant managing agents. DFID's contribution to a project was a minimum grant of £1,000 and a maximum grant of £10,000 per year for up to three years.
