Recruitment
Current vacancies
Vacancies for permanent or contractual work with DFID arise on a

Newly-Qualified?
The Associate Professional Officers Scheme is an annual recruitment
competition for up to 40 graduates, helping them improve their expertise
and potential to work in international development, and offering support
for academic training to masters degree level and/or a practical
attachment either overseas or in the UK. The booklet 'Associate
Professional Officer Scheme', available here in PDF, tells you about
what APOS involves; a print version can be ordered from enquiry@dfid.gov.uk
Volunteer work
DFID does not itself engage volunteers, even in emergency situations. However, DFID does support UK-based organisations specialising in sending skilled volunteers to work on long-term assignments in developing countries. For those interested in working in development or finding out more about particular aspects of development, e-mail enquiry@dfid.gov.uk
